The US Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood said that the Recovery Act was used to rehabilitate the country’s infrastructure, generate more jobs and boost the economy.
The Federal Aviation Administration has obtained $1.1bn in funds under the Recovery Act to offer eligible airports discretionary grants.
The grants are allotted based on certain key aspects of the project including airport security, safety, infrastructure, rise in capacity, runway safety and reduction of environmental effects.
