According to reports, the former head of Chinese state-owned Capital Airports Holding, which owns Beijing Airport, has been executed following conviction on corruption charges.

Various state media in China claim Li Peiying was found guilty of bribery and embezzlement totalling nearly $16m.

Peiying was head of the firm, which runs 30 airports across nine provinces, from 1995 to 2003 and was found guilty in February of this year of accepting bribes worth about $4m as well as stealing a further $12m in public funds.
