Memphis International Airport in the US has announced plans to build a $150m seven-level car park.
As well as providing parking, the proposed facility will feature 2,500 spaces for rental car firms. The rental firms will share the car park’s last two levels.
Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority chief executive officer and president Larry Cox said that the bottom two levels of the parking lot could accommodate additional rental car firms in the future.
The garage will be located north of the airport’s current car park and construction is likely to commence in 2010.
