Thunder Bay International Airport Authority in Canada will begin its 275m runway extension work before 20 July 2009.
During 2008, work on the replacement of the precision landing system had disrupted flight landings due to weak instrument landing system (ILS) signals.
This year, the airport plans to minimise the disruption during the runway extension, by carrying out work between midnight and early morning when there are no scheduled flights.
