Turkmenbashi Airport in Turkmenistan will have a turnkey electrical engineering equipment installed by Siemens Industry Solutions Division to streamline the airport's processes and increase safety.
Siemens on behalf of the Turkish Polimeks Construction Company will install the electrical system equipments for the passenger and cargo terminal, the separate president terminal, the secondary and operational buildings as well as for the apron and the new 3,500m-long runway.
The total cost of the project is €27m.
The engineering equipment installed will include medium and low-voltage distribution, lighting, safety systems such as CCTV and fire alarm systems.
In addition, complete IT and communication systems such as the telephone system, airport-specific software solutions, loudspeaker system, baggage handling equipment, X-ray units, passenger information systems, the floodlighting system for the apron and the airfield lighting will also be implemented.
This effort will enable the airport to manage international air traffic as well as domestic air traffic to the capital Ashgabat.
The company also provides training to airport staff regarding the use of the devices and will also carry out the entire processing of the project.
