A terrestrial trunked radio (Tetra) digital radio system designed by Motorola has been installed at AENA Alicante Airport to support and improve operations.

Adopting the new system will improve indoor and outdoor radio communication between ground staff, airport officials and other workers in the airport.

Partnering with Amper Sistemas, Motorola will roll out its IP-based Tetra technology, which provides remote access to information databases and image transmission over a single network.

Amper Sistemas managing director Miguel Sancho said that they knew the Motorola technology would be cost effective, ultra secure and highly efficient.

Alicante is the fourth airport in Spain to use this Tetra Communication Network.
