Oman’s Muscat Airport has awarded a $1.17bn contract to a joint venture of Turkey’s TAV and Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) for expanding the main airport.
The expansion has become necessary as passenger traffic through Muscat Airport, excluding those in transit, rose to about 3.2 million in 2008, up 18% from the previous year.
The work will start after the client’s announcement and is expected to be complete in 32 months.
