Fairbank International Airport in Alaska, US, has opened its new terminal, bringing its regional, domestic and international air carriers under one roof for maximum efficiency.

The airport's terminal construction involves curbside improvements, an expanded ticket lobby, two regional airline boarding gates on level one, three new concourse boarding gates, additional jet bridges and the relocation of airport administration offices.

Though the new terminal has become operational, the interior finishing work and airport tenant transitions will continue until this summer.

The final phase of construction – including the demolition of vacated portions of the old terminal and landside and airside paving – will commence soon and is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
