The Peel Airports Group is looking for potential investors to become partners to increase its airports business operations.

The Peel Group comprises Liverpool John Lennon, Doncaster Sheffield and Durham Tees Valley airports in the UK.

The group also plans to invest in its Liverpool John Lennon Airport bringing its total investment at this airport to £150m in ten years.

Peel Airports deputy CEO Neil Pakey said that the airport had grown ‘from 0.7 million passengers to 5.4 million passengers in just over ten years and is well positioned for continued development’.

This development includes the creation of 1,500m² of additional retail space. Modern passenger screening equipment will also be installed to reduce queue time during peak hours.

These facilities will be added by the third quarter of 2010.
