Budapest Airport (BA) will begin construction of a new terminal at Ferihegy Airport at the end of April.

The new terminal, named SkyCourt, is a part of the airport's €261m upgrade programme and will feature state-of-the-art security technology.

The new construction will have expanded check-in areas, more counters and eight automatic check-in devices, which will reduce waiting time and lead to greater efficiency.

Moreover, BA will construct 14 new passenger screening channels to help travellers access the transit area quickly in the event of growing traffic.

Passengers will not be able to access the lower level of the terminal during the construction period until summer 2010.
