A security alert that caused the partial evacuation of Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport in London, UK, on 11 March, has now been resolved. A small section of the departures area had been cordoned off after a suspect package was found at the terminal, which led to evacuation at around 12:50

A security alert that caused the partial evacuation of Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport in London, UK, on 11 March, has now been resolved.

A small section of the departures area had been cordoned off after a suspect package was found at the terminal, which led to evacuation at around 12:50pm (1250 GMT).

The suspect package has been cleared and a man was arrested and the terminal was re-opened around two hours later.

The security alert affected ground-side departure, though the flights were unaffected.
