Christchurch International Airport in New Zealand has resumed international and domestic flights today, after a 24-hour suspension following a devastating earthquake yesterday.

The airport said check-in resumed after midday and international flights departed by mid-afternoon, while domestic flights resumed at 8am local time.

The earthquake measuring 6.3 magnitude damaged both the international and domestic terminals at the airport.

At least 65 people have been killed, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key confirmed.
