Manchester Airport to Get New ATC Tower

Manchester Airport in the UK will construct a new multi-million pound air traffic control (ATC) tower, which is set to be complete in 2013. The 60m tower will be located adjacent to the north fire station and will provide 360° panoramic views of the entire airfield operations.

The 60m tower will be located adjacent to the north fire station and will provide 360° panoramic views of the entire airfield operations.

The tower will house a new visual control room, an approach radar section and navigation, surveillance and communication equipment and office spaces.

The facility will be managed by UK-based air navigation service provider National Air Traffic Service, while Manchester Airport will own and maintain the building.
