JICA to Provide Funds for Philippine Airport

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide a loan to finance new facilities at the new Panglao Bohol International Airport in the Philippines.

The loan, the value of which is undisclosed, will be used to build runway, lighting and navigational facilities at the airport.

The new airport will also accommodate flight diversions from the Mactan Cebu International Airport in case of emergencies, once it becomes fully functional.

The terminal building, the cargo area and the parking area of the airport will be open to public-private partnership (PPP).

Department of Transportation and Communications will also revive the Panglao Airport Inter-Agency Task Force, which will be the implementing agency of the project, according to theboholstandard.com.
