Passenger Traffic Rises at Frankfurt Airport

Airport operator Fraport said that Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in Germany has recorded a 6% rise in passenger traffic to 4.1 million in November 2010, compared with the same period in 2009.

FRA's traffic in the first 11 months of 2010 increased 4.5% to 49.2 million passengers.

The airport recorded a 5.2% rise in air freight to 198,333 metric tons in November, while between January to November it handled 2,051,675 metric tons of air freight, a rise of 23.4%.

Aircraft movements rose by 1.5% to 38,959 takeoffs and landings in November, while from January to November 2010, it rose 0.7% to a total of 430,308 movements.

Fraport-owned Antalya Airport's traffic rose 18.9% to 21.6 million passengers from January to November; at Lima Airport it rose 16.5% to 9.4 million passengers.

From January to November 2010, traffic at Burgas Airport rose by 11.1% to 1.9 million passengers, while at Varna Airport it rose by 0.5% to 1.2 million passengers.
