San Antonio International Airport in the US has begun flight operations at its new Terminal B, built as part of the overall airport expansion programme.

The $108m terminal will be used by American Airlines and Continental Airlines.

The updated terminal will replace Terminal 2 as part of the airport’s 1998 master plan and include new full-body scanners installed by the Transportation Security Administration.

The expansion programme added a new way-finding system, bi-level roadway system, consolidated baggage handling system and a new central utility plant to the airport.
