Danish air navigation service provider Naviair has awarded a contract to Nav Canada to provide its weather and flight information broadcasting technology for airports in Denmark.

Nav Canada will provide its automatic terminal information service (ATIS) system, which can transmit automatic broadcasts to arriving and departing aircraft.

The ATIS system will be installed at Denmark’s Copenhagen Airport and Roskilde Airport, with an option for other towers in the country.

The company will also provide its VOLMET technology to provide in-flight meteorological information to pilots flying international routes.

Nav Canada will deploy two VOLMET system in Denmark; one to transmit routine information, and the other to transmit information during special situations such as volcanic ash warnings.
