Vodafone New Zealand has launched a 5G network trial at Wellington Airport to provide travellers with high-speed connectivity.

The wireless broadband is being trialled for one week, ending 9 December. Using 3.5GHz spectrum, the network trial permits five users to connect for five minutes at a time.

Vodafone plans to launch its 5G network in multiple locations across the country. This trial allows customers to test the network for free.

Passengers can use Nokia FastMile 5G Gateway devices when passing through Wellington Airport to test the 5G speeds.

Travellers can also take their Wi-Fi enabled devices near the 5G stand at the main terminal centre opposite gate 18, and enter the password ‘Vodafone5G’ to connect to ‘Free 5G WLG’.

After five minutes, passengers will be automatically logged out to enable another passenger to trial the network before their flight departure.
