Telos Identity Management Solutions (Telos ID) has received a contract from the Port of Seattle to provide Designated Aviation Channeling (DAC) services to process worker background checks at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) in the US.

The DAC services are approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and aim to boost data integrity and the efficiency of credentialing operations while lowering costs.

They are designed to facilitate workers’ biographic and biometric data submissions to carry out background checks of those working in secure areas of commercial US airports.

Telos ID has offered DAC services in SEA since 2016 and this recent contract will be valid for the next ten years.

DAC is used by SEA with the integration with its identity management system (IdMS).

Telos ID aviation security vice-president Dawn Lucini said: “The DAC services deployment at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is notable for its size and scope, specifically the integration with SEA’s IdMS, enabling efficient biographic, biometric, and Rap Back transmissions.

“With a large badge holder population, we have streamlined the TSA-required aviation worker background check process while upholding the high security and customer service standards at SEA.”

The DAC services adhere to requirements of TSA and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for managing personal information and biometrics.

The design supports the needs of every airport and air carrier and users can carry out different functions on one platform.

Lucini added: “Telos ID has become the recognised leader in assuring the identities of aviation workers with advanced biometric and enrollment solutions.

“We are pleased to support the Port of Seattle and its world-class airport (the region’s gateway to the globe) in their efforts to provide excellence in credentialing and vetting services, all while reducing costs and providing superior customer care and flexibility.”

Last year, Telos ID secured a contract from City and County of San Francisco to provide DAC services at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in the US.
