French airport Nice Côte d’Azur has introduced a self-connecting solution, Nice Connect, which enables passengers to connect flights from any airline, anywhere in the world, through the airport.

Nice Connect, according to the airport, ensures travellers can move through its terminals and connect to its network of more than 120 destinations, which includes 100 global locations.

The solution has been designed in-house in collaboration with the airport’s Lab Digital teams and its partners. It is said to be free from any airline or alliance. However, it is available to online travel agencies who are interested in joining it.

Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur board of directors chairman Dominique Thillaud said: “The startup of Nice Connect reinforces our position as a credible and necessary alternative to the major hubs, as well as our ability to bring some relief to the saturated skies of Northern Europe.

“We are convinced that the future of air traffic requires an increased decentralisation of flows for the benefit of the surrounding regions, their inhabitants and travellers.”

“We are convinced that the future of air traffic requires an increased decentralisation of flows for the benefit of the surrounding regions, their inhabitants and travellers who will be offered greater flexibility of connections.”

At every stage of the passenger journey, Nice Connect integrates services and meets the top-four expectations of self-connectors such as flexibility of flight schedules; time-saving during the trip, quality stop-overs in pleasant terminals; and price.

The solution is being provided with free insurance offer that guarantees care of passengers who have missed their connection.

After reaching Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, passengers who have opted for the Nice Connect solution will be offered guidance throughout the journey.

Once passengers connect to the platform’s broadband Wi-Fi network, they can access a dedicated tab of the portal for useful information such as where to collect their suitcases, boarding gate, flight schedules and contact details of the customer relations area.

Dedicated signage has also been installed to indicate the priority points and queues for security controls as well as for the passport controls in Terminal 2.

The self-connecting solution, which is completely free, has an additional, optional component, integrating à la carte services such as access to a VIP lounge at a special rate.

Kiwi.com has signed a non-exclusive partnership agreement to market Nice Connect. From June, the solution will allow passengers to configure their journeys via Nice Côte d’Azur, using the Kiwi.com, Kayak.fr and Skyscanner.fr platforms.
