Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has selected Unisys‘s China subsidiary as a systems integrator to support the airport’s expansion and modernisation project, which includes work on the new terminal 2.

Under the contract, Unisys will supply the core operational systems for the entire airport including its operational database, which will be integrated with the air traffic control system and the flight information management system.

Unisys will provide the enterprise service bus and take the lead role in the interface design, testing and commissioning of the integration of all the systems to be used in the new terminal.

Unisys will also oversee a systems trial at the new terminal and provide maintenance for five years after the systems have gone live in 2012.

Terminal 2 will provide additional capacity to the Chinese airport, which is expected to see 53 million passengers by 2015.
