Israeli national carrier EL AL has signed a five-year maintenance service agreement with Pratt & Whitney for maintenance services on up to 17 new PW4000 engines.

Pratt & Whitney is currently providing services for 27 EL AL engines.

For more than 90 years, Pratt & Whitney has been providing technical expertise and services to aircraft operators.

Its PW4000 is a family of high bypass turbofan aircraft engines, which was built as a successor to the JT9D series of engines. It has served wider applications than its predecessor.

The company is involved in the design, manufacture and servicing of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units.
