Technology holding company Cleartronic has signed an agreement to supply a mission critical communication system to the the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority (Edmonton Airports) in Alberta, Canada.
Under the terms of agreement, the company will supply VoiceInterop Crash Phone to help Edmonton Airports boost emergency response at the Edmonton International Airport.

Offered by Cleartronic’s wholly owned subsidiary VoiceInterop, Crash Phone combines the company’s engineered software with commercial off-the-shelf products to adapt to the needs of commercial aviation airports.
The crash phone will connect the air traffic control tower to the rescue firefighting station, communications center and airport’s police through an instant voice communications system.
The system will use the VoiceInterop software to connect IP telephones, the airport’s two-way radios and overhead paging and alerting systems.
Cleartonic CEO Larry Reid said: "During an emergency, air traffic control tower personnel simply pick-up the phone and are connected instantly with a combination of first responders and airport operations staff.

VoiceInterop has developed the system in a way to keep space for future modifications by implementing minor changes instead of budgeting for new infrastructure equipment.
Established in 1990, Edmonton Airports is responsible for operating the Edmonton/Cooking Lake Airport, Edmonton International Airport and Edmonton/Villeneuve Airport.
The Edmonton International Airport is said to be the country’s largest airport by total land area and served more than eight million passengers in 2014.
