Malta International Airport has announced the installation of flight information display screens across its terminals to improve passenger experience.

The installation of new display screens is part of the Airport Management System (AMS) provided by SITA, which is a global IT provider to the air transport industry.

Malta International Airport Innovation and Technology head Ian Maggi said: “With a seven million traffic milestone on the horizon, it is perhaps more important than ever to harness innovation so as to have access to real-time data to plan ahead, make timely decisions, and improve our agility in allocating the resources available in a way that enhances the airport experience for our passengers and the ease with which our team can perform certain day-to-day tasks.”

“We have worked closely with Malta International Airport to provide a solution that helps the airport manage every aspect of its operation.”

The installation of the flight information display system is expected to further enhance communication capabilities at the airport. The systems display information, such as flight status and departure gate allocation to passengers.

The AMS has been deployed in a phased manner in time for the airport’s summer schedule launch.

SITA Europe president Sergio Colella said: “We have worked closely with Malta International Airport to provide a solution that helps the airport manage every aspect of its operation while in turn provides a great experience for their passengers.
