US start-up Jabbrrbox has installed eight of its connected workspaces at LaGuardia Airport’s Central Terminal B to provide privacy for travellers and mobile workers.

The work booths offer acoustically sound, private spaces and are equipped with secure Wi-Fi, flight-tracking abilities, terminal maps, and a photobooth app.

Additional facilities available include Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling, in-booth speakers, screen-sharing capabilities, a camera for video conference calls and speakers for music and hands-free calling.

“Jabbrrbox’s private workspaces provide the type of features, including free and secure wi-fi, flight-tracking and a hands-free calling, that Terminal B visitors want and need.”

Jabbrrbox co-founder and CEO Brian Hackathorn said: “We saw the need for ‘space as a service.’ That’s where Jabbrrbox comes in: for on-the-go calls or as an on-demand quiet workspace, Jabbrrbox is your space-away-from-office.

“The LaGuardia Central Terminal B installation is a great benchmark for us, as we continue our trajectory of growth and expand the service to numerous public spaces across the US.”

Users will have to pay $15 to reserve the Jabbrrbox booth for 30 minutes. A door passcode and wi-fi password will also be provided at the time of reservation.
