Dnata’s joint venture company in Canada, GTA dnata, has secured a ground handling licence for five years to launch operations at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

A team of the company’s trained aviation professionals will provide quality and safe ramp, passenger and cargo warehousing services to airlines.

Operations at the airport are scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of this year.

In January, dnata expanded its footprint in Canada, commencing flight catering operations in Vancouver.

The new facility at Vancouver International Airport has a capacity of up to 8,000 in-flight meals a day.

Last year, GTA dnata assisted 1.2 million passengers and moved approximately 90,000t of cargo at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

In 2016, global air services provider dnata established GTA dnata by acquiring a 50% stake in GTA Aviation’s cargo and ground handling operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Since then, it has made investments in its team, infrastructure and equipment.

The company currently provides ground handling, cargo and catering services to more than 300 airlines at 126 airports in 19 countries.

Its teams have handled 681,000 aircraft, moved 2.9 million tonnes of cargo and provided more than 93 million meals.
