Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in Germany has reported a 2.6% growth in passenger traffic for the first seven months of the year, according to Fraport Traffic Figures July 2019.

The airport has also reported a 0.8% growth to more than 6.9 million passengers in July 2019, compared to same period during the prior year.

Aircraft movements increased by 1% to 47,125 takeoffs and landings, while accumulated maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) increased by 2.4% to more than 2.9 million metric tonnes during last month.

The cargo throughput, including airfreight and airmail, at the airport has increased by 1.5% to 178,652 metric tonnes in July 2019.

In addition, Slovenia’s Ljubljana Airport (LJU) in Fraport’s international portfolio has reported a 4.2% increase in traffic to 207,292 passengers.

However, Fraport’s two Brazilian airports in Fortaleza (FOR) and Porto Alegre (POA) have reported combined figures of 1.3 million passengers in traffic, which represent a 9.9% decline year-on-year.

This July, Lima Airport (LIM) in Peru has reported a further 4.9% increase in traffic to nearly 2.1 million passengers, while 14 Greek airports in the portfolio registered a combined 0.8% decrease year-on-year to 5.3 million passengers.

Furthermore, Twin Star airports of Varna (VAR) and Burgas (BOJ) on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast have reported a combined 13.2% decline in July 2019 traffic to 1.2 million passengers.

Antalya Airport (AYT) on the Turkish Riviera has registered an 11.7% growth to almost 5.4 million passengers.

St Petersburg Airport (LED) in Russia has also registered a 4.9% growth in traffic to nearly 2.2 million passengers, and Xian Airport (XIY) in China reported a 7.4% growth to 4.3 million passengers in July.
