Vilnius Airport in Lithuania has announced that limited passenger flights will resume operations from 13 May.

As of that date, Lufthansa will run flights to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

From 17 May, Latvian flag carrier airline airBaltic will operate daily flights to Riga International Airport (RIX) in Latvia.

Passengers who hold a valid ticket will be permitted to enter the terminal building. Passengers will have to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to enter the building and have to wear the PPE in all areas of Vilnius Airport.

Lithuanian Airports added that passengers will be allowed to enter the terminal building after completing initial health screening.

In addition, all passengers should pass border control.

The airport operator has also announced that it has implemented additional measures to safeguard employees and passengers at the airport.

Hand disinfectants will be available throughout the terminal building and passengers are advised to regularly disinfect or wash their hands.

Cleaning staff will regularly disinfect the terminal premises and horizontal and vertical surfaces daily and preventive notifications will be displayed on screens and announced throughout the airport.

Check-in counters have been situated at a maximum distance from each other and are equipped with queue barriers, disinfectant and markings of one to two metres.

The check-in, security check, and boarding tables are also equipped with organic glass shields and all staff are mandated to wear PPE.

Special bins are present in the arrivals terminal to dispose the PPE while changing.

Passengers can take a Covid-19 test and will have to self-isolate for 14 days.
