Finnish airport operator Finavia has announced that it will gradually lift the restrictions that were put in place to control the Covid-19 pandemic.
The move follows the decision of the Finnish Government to slowly ease some of the restrictions that were imposed due to the pandemic.

The government stated that travel restrictions inside the Schengen area will be relaxed, and passenger traffic, along with other essential travel, will be permitted. The new regulations will be enforced from 14 May.
However, internal border controls will be in place until 14 June. Restrictions for travelling outside the Schengen area will still be enforced.
Passengers travelling through Finavia-operated airports have been urged to use hand santitisers, which are available in the airport.
Passengers should maintain a safe distance from other passengers and employees to limit the spread of Covid-19.

The company published an air traffic statistics report revealing that the number of air passengers for all its airports fell by 20.1% between January and March.
