ERA has secured an international tender to deliver and deploy its surveillance system for the new airport to be developed in the southern quarter of Daxing in Beijing, China.
Planned to be the largest airport in the world, the Daxing hub will feature six runways and is expected to have a capacity to handle 130 million passengers each year once completed.

ERA has been selected for the project by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
ERA chief executive officer Viktor Sotona said: “I consider it an immense success for our company.

In order to accommodate the rising passenger traffic in China, the air navigation service providers (ANSPs) of the country have emphasised on the need to build the new airport in Daxing.

By GlobalDataUnder the terms of the deal, the company will supply its NEO by ERA multi-sensor surveillance system (MSS) that comprises 47 ground stations.
With a robust system design, MSS is a composite solution of multilateration and automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B).
Compliant with international standards, the ERA system can offer improved signal detection capabilities in addition to reduced power consumption.
The new airport at Daxing is slated to be operational in 2019.
In 2007, the company installed its tried and tested MSS for surface surveillance and parallel runway monitoring at Beijing Capital International Airport.
