From early next year, British budget airline easyJet is set to introduce three new routes from Scotland’s Glasgow Airport to Pula in Croatia, Barcelona in Spain and Dalaman in Turkey.

The airline previously announced plans to dedicate a fifth aircraft to its Glasgow base. This is expected to generate approximately 50 jobs.

Commenting on the latest move, easyJet UK country manager Ali Gayward said: “We are very excited about launching three new routes next year from Glasgow to a fantastic range of destinations. This will provide even more great value and choice for our customers travelling for both business and leisure.

Glasgow Airport aviation head Paul White said: “The decision by the airline to continue growth at Glasgow will see these four routes support a number of jobs at the airport and add an extra 340,000 seats to easyJet’s operation. We’re particularly pleased to see the return of services to the Croatian town of Pula, which is sure to be popular with Scottish travellers.

“This welcome expansion from one of Europe’s leading airlines is to be commended and confirms easyJet’s strong commitment to Glasgow Airport and its passengers.”

Scotland’s largest airline, easyJet operates around 970 weekly flights across 71 routes.
