Terminal 4 at New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport has partnered with technology firm Clear to introduce biometric scanners for passengers in the US.

The biometric scanners are intended to help more than 21 million passengers a year quickly move through the terminal’s security checkpoints by having their fingerprints or eyes scanned to verify their identity and board their flights.

Clear chairman and CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker said: “We want to help our members get where they are going with greater confidence and predictability, whether they are catching a flight or going to the big game.

“Time is precious and Clear members enjoy more time doing what they love, and less time waiting in line.”

The biometric scanners have been approved by the US Department of Homeland Security.

“The biometric scanners are intended to help passengers quickly move through the terminal’s security checkpoints by having their fingerprints or eyes scanned.”

Clear technology has been integrated into facilities at JFK’s Terminal 2, LaGuardia Airport’s (LGA) Terminals C & D, and domestic Delta Sky Clubs since last year.
