Christchurch Airport in New Zealand has become the first airport in the world to achieve Level 4 Transformation of the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme.
The airport claimed that it has been continuously working and aligning its carbon management strategy with global climate objectives.

To mark the airport industry’s ongoing commitment to ‘Build Back Better’, ACI recently introduced two more levels of accreditation in its global Airport Carbon Accreditation programme, namely Level 4 Transformation and Level 4+ Transition.
Before upgrading to Level 4 Transformation, Christchurch Airport was previously accredited at Level 2 Reduction of Airport Carbon Accreditation.
The airport stated that it has taken concrete actions and transformed its operations to achieve a reduction in CO2 emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.
It also addressed larger emissions in its carbon footprint at all its major on-site and off-site operational sources.

This week, ACI partnered with Bureau Veritas, which specialises in testing, inspection and certification, to launch an Airport Health Measures Audit programme for proper implementation of health and safety measures.
