The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and DFS Aviation Services have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on a wide range of air traffic management (ATM) activities.

Under the MoU, both CAAS and DFS Aviation Services will collaborate to further optimise safety management systems, benchmark performance indicators.

Additionally, they will develop air traffic management concepts, solutions and technologies for the future.

CAAS director-general Kevin Shum said: “This collaboration is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance ATM safety and efficiency in our busy skies. Asia is one of the fastest growing air transport regions in the world today.

“This MoU will enable our organisations to explore and develop more innovative solutions to accommodate aviation growth.”

The MoU was signed by CAAS Air Navigation Services deputy director-general Soh Poh Theen and DFS Aviation Services managing directors Oliver Cristinetti and Dirk Mahns.

DFS Aviation Services operates as the commercial subsidiary of the German air navigation service provider DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung.
