Known as My Lounge – Home, the new facility is located adjacent to the airport’s departure gates and will be managed by UK-based No1 Lounges.

It is the third No1 Lounge in Australia, after Melbourne and Sydney. Virgin Australia said that the new facility has been designed to offer social lounging experiences to international travellers.

Covering an area of 332m², the lounge can accommodate a total of 108 passengers.

It is available to all eligible Virgin Australia business class guests, as well as platinum and gold members of the Velocity Frequent Flyer Program.

Members of Virgin Australia Lounge travelling to New Zealand can access My Lounge – Home.

The facility is also open for checked-in travellers of other airlines on a pay-per-use basis. Passengers can pre-book the lounge online or in-person on the day of travel.

Amenities offered by the newly opened lounge include runway views, shower facilities, unlimited Wi-Fi, television, newspapers and magazines.

Virgin Australia CEO Paul Scurrah said: “It was a wonderful lounge experience catering to all ends of the market, from business to leisure. Our guests love the lounges in Melbourne and Sydney, which gave us the confidence to move forward in Brisbane.

“We have half a million passengers heading to 12 destinations from Brisbane, so getting the balance right was absolutely crucial.

“It’s different to what everyone else offers in this space, and we want people to book with us for the things that make us different, not the same.”

Brisbane Airport is operated by Queensland-based private operator Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Limited (BAC). The airport features two major terminals to manage 35 airlines flying to 83 domestic and global destinations.
