ADB Safegate has received a contract from the Moroccan Airports Authority to modernise its legacy IT systems.
The contract awarded by the Office National Des Aeroports (ONDA) will see the Belgian airfield lighting solutions provider deploy airport operational solutions across 22 airports in Morocco.

The technology upgrade will enable Moroccan airports to conform to the collaborative decision-making (A-CDM) vision set out by Eurocontrol.
This vision seeks to improve the efficiency and resilience of airport operations by optimising resources and enhancing air traffic predictability.
ONDA CEO El Aoufir said: “Airports are the first impression of any country, and especially in the case of Morocco, which is a tourist hotspot with double-digit air traffic growth. Passenger satisfaction is, therefore, our top priority.
“ADB Safegate Airport Systems has been our partner for more than 15 years, and is well suited to ensure we’re able to nearly double our passenger capacity from 37 million in 2019 to 70 million in 2035.”

By GlobalDataADB Safegate Airport Systems will centralise the IT infrastructure at ONDA’s headquarters, and implement ‘SOAM’ across multiple sites.
The system features solutions from the Airport Systems portfolio, including the airport operational database (AODB), resource management system (RMS) and integration broker (IB).
The AODB provides the airport with a real-time view of operational data and improves flight scheduling, as well as planning, while RMS automates resource planning so that airports get more from their existing setup of gates, check-in desks, and baggage belts.
By breaking down operational data silos, IB offers timely information so that airport stakeholders can respond appropriately and quickly when disruptions occur.
The deployment of SOAM will enable the 22 airports across Morocco to normalise and continuously improve ONDA processes at the gate and airside, and get a real-time, unified view of their operational data for improved decision making.
The modernisation will also provide better turnaround time for Europe-Africa airport hubs such as Casablanca, while large airports like Marrakesh, Nador, and Rabat will be able to use their resources more effectively.
In March, ADB Safegate won a contract to upgrade its Safedock advanced visual docking guidance systems (A-VDGS) and apron management system at Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) Airport in the US.
