ICM Airport Technics – London Heathrow Airport Case Study
French multinational corporation Capgemini and ICM Airport Technics have collaborated to automate the bag drop process at London Heathrow Airport, as a part of the airport’s Technology and the Passenger Journey (TATPJ) programme. The self-bag drop had to improve operational efficiency, reduce cost and improve service for their passengers. It also needed to meet safety and regulatory compliance requirements of the Department of Transport (DfT), including AAA requirements whereby the same person that drops the bag must be the same person that boards the aircraft.
