SITA, the air transport IT specialist, was declared, for the second year running, the best airport IT service provider at the Emerging Markets Airport Awards (EMAA) which took place in Dubai.
These awards recognise product and service quality across the airport industry in the emerging markets of the Middle East, Africa, Indian subcontinent, Russia / CIS and the Baltic republics.
The EMAA awards follow an evaluation which covers a broad spectrum of product and service touch points across the airport experience at a time when airports in this sector aim to deliver consistent world-class standards to attract more airlines and passengers.
SITA’s win is recognition of the development of its ‘intelligent airport’ concept which uses integrated IT solutions to optimise airport processes. Over the past year, SITA has secured a number of major contracts for integrated solutions with airports in the growing Middle East region, including in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Egypt and Turkey. In India, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and Mumbai International, Bangalore and Cochin airports have all recently selected SITA. While Russian airports Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Pulkov, Sochi, Ekaterinburg and Vladivostok, along with growing airports in Kazakhstan and Ukraine, have chosen SITA solutions.
The EMAA awards were created to recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and companies in the aviation industry and the highest levels of quality consistency. A total of 91,115 nominations and 34,000 votes were submitted for the awards and examined by the internationally acclaimed auditors Frost & Sullivan and advisory board members.
The awards ceremony was attended by senior delegates and key players in the aviation industry, from the Middle East and around the world.
