ARINC Incorporated today announced it has reached a milestone with the deployment of its 50th AIM security system to protect critical infrastructure at sites across North America.

With the completion of four new systems in 2011, ARINC’s AIM (Advanced Information Management) technology is now being used to manage on-site security at all the Gulf Coast storage facilities of the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and at more than half the nuclear electric power generating plants in the US and Canada.

With its advanced surveillance capabilities, the AIM system is also used for security at a growing number of airport, public transit, chemical, educational, and municipal sites.

"ARINC Security Systems has reached a new milestone with these 50 critical infrastructure, transportation, and energy generation sites now deployed," stated David Morrissey, ARINC Vice President, Security and Transportation. "To date, more than 10,000 cameras and 5,000 other security devices at these important sites have been successfully integrated with our powerful and flexible AIM platform."

The AIM Security Platform is engineered to use commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technology, and it offers maximum compatibility with yesterday’s proprietary systems or today’s open-architecture security devices. It is well suited to any site that requires real-time situational awareness for the safety and security of personnel, customers, or facilities.

AIM’s system management capabilities include a full range of intrusion detection, video surveillance, identification, access control, and other security functions.

"We are continuing to evolve the ARINC AIM Security Platform, as well as our AIM Control Platform, to anticipate and meet the latest requirements of industry and government," Morrissey added.
