Adesta, a systems integrator and project management company for communication networks and electronic security systems, has won a contract from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority to install a complete intrusion detection system along the western perimeter of the Washington Dulles International Airport.

Adesta has selected Future Fibre Technologies as its exclusive vendor partner for the installation. A world leader in development, manufacture and installation of fibre-optic intrusion detection systems, Future Fibre Technologies has provided affordable, high-quality security solutions to airports around the world. The project began in October 2009 and will be completed by March 2010.

“Adesta is pleased to support the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority with their endeavour,” said Adesta president Bob Sommerfeld. “We are diligent to the important mission of equipping the airport with the most effective and environmentally friendly security solutions available. We are also pleased to work with Future Fibre Technologies, a proven leader in airport security.”

Future Fibre Technologies vice president Bill Evenson said that their system, Secure Fence, is suited to airport security because of its accuracy. “The system is virtually immune to nuisance alarms due to our patented ARaD technology, which makes it ideal for this application,” he added.
