LFV and COMSOFT have signed a contract at the ATC Global 2009 for the modernisation of their AIS at Stockholm’s Flight Planning Centre (FPC).

LFV’s business area manager for ANS Systems, Mr Rolf Norman, and Mr Manfred Schmid, CEO of German ATC supplier COMSOFT, took the opportunity at this year’s ATC Global, the major ATC conference and exhibition in Amsterdam, to sign the contract for the supply of their new system for NOTAM and pre-flight briefing services. COMSOFT’s aeronautical data access system (CADAS) will replace the current system as the Swedish ANSP seeks to elevate its working environment and efficiency to the utmost standard.

The LFV is responsible for air navigation services in Sweden, and selected COMSOFT’s solution after thorough evaluation of all solutions as proposed in an international open call for tender. LFV recognised CADAS’s high flexibility to easily adapt to user-specific workflows and its interoperability within complex and diverse environments. Its novel service-oriented architecture (SOA) allows seamless plugging-in of further AIS applications, facilitating close interaction with existing systems. As a bonus, LFV’s future AIS will be ready for digital NOTAM management by connecting to COMSOFT’s fully-featured AIXM 5 database.
