Si ATM was awarded a new multiple year contract with Latvian ANSP Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme for the extension of its ATRACC system with new operational functionality in order to comply with the SESAR programme.
Most significant new functions are CPDLC, Noth European Free Route Airspace (NEFRA) concept, Departure Manager, Improvement of Tower Automation, Support to Flight Information Service, Integration with AIM data base and various minor technical upgrades. The high-fidelity combined (en-route, approach and 3D tower) simulator CSim shall be aligned with identical functionality to provide controllers with a realistic training environment for the new functionality.
The project will also position the ATRACC system well for future SES regulations, in particular the latest one on the Pilot Common Project, Regulation (EC) 716/2014, of 27 June 2014. Under this regulation European states are required to prepare their ATM technology for an integrated network in one single European sky.
