Crisplant Awarded Residential Service Contract for London Heathrow Airport's Crisplant & BEUMER Group Sorters

Crisplant – part of BEUMER Group and a leading global supplier of automated baggage handling systems – has been awarded a five-year Residential Service Contract by Babcock International Group PLC for support with the maintenance of all BEUMER and Crisplant baggage handling systems installed in London Heathrow Airport (LHA), in the UK.

Working in partnership with Babcock, which has overall responsibility for the operations and maintenance of all baggage handling systems at Heathrow Airport, Crisplant will provide on-site personnel to support a full range of maintenance services. These services include operative and technical system support; preventive and corrective maintenance and inspection; spare parts management and contingency planning as well as system analysis and optimisation.

The contract covers all Crisplant and BEUMER tilt-tray sorters installed in Heathrow Airport’s Terminals 1, 4 and 5, between 1997 and 2008. Crisplant and BEUMER Group UK personnel will be deployed on-site to assist Babcock in achieving the criteria for system performance and availability set out by Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL).
