ICM Adds Next-Generation Kiosk to Self-Service Suite

ICM will be revealing its next-generation airport check-in kiosk solution at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2018 (PTE).

Along with the demonstration of two Common User Self Service (CUSS) Auto Bag Drop (ABD) units, retrofit and replacement solutions, the company will be showcasing its airport operations solutions at stand 715 at PTE, taking place 20-22 March in Stockholm, Sweden.

ICM’s range of self-service baggage and check-in solutions both frees up terminal space and significantly reduces airport and airline costs.

2017 was a breakthrough year for ICM, not only due to the number of ABD installations but also because of the increased speed of adoption of self-service baggage solutions in airports all over the world.

In the last 12 months, the first ABD with fingerprint scanning technology went live, the Series 1 Type 2 ABD was launched and ICM diversified their product offering by introducing its next-generation check-in kiosk solution with integrated biometrics on top of their expanding bag drop range.

During the same period, Singapore Changi Terminal 4 saw 50 biometrically enabled ABD units go live as the terminal commenced operations in October, Delta Air Lines partnered with ICM to install biometric bag drop technology in the USA at Minneapolis-St Paul Airport and Heathrow Airport placed a roll-out order of ABDs for Terminal 2, with a look to increase this number beyond 2018.

More than 370 ABD units are operational in 25 airport terminals across the world and have processed more than 55 million bags.
