BEUMER Latinoamericana Equipamentos and Crisplant, part of BEUMER Group, will highlight temporary terminal solutions, in addition to integration skills for automated, high-speed baggage handling systems, at Airport Infra Expo 2012, on 24-26 April in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
"Temporary terminals provide a turnkey solution which enables airports to meet surges in passenger numbers for major sporting events, such as the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro," explains managing director, José Arsénio: "They can also be used to enable airports to maintain normal operation during upgrades to their permanent baggage handling infrastructure."
BEUMER Latinoamericana will demonstrate how temporary solutions can be designed to integrate all the facilities offered by a permanent terminal, such as early baggage storage and baggage handling based on the industry’s most energy-efficient sorters, in addition to immigration and security, which is compliant with all screening and safety regulations.
Delegates to Airport Infra Expo 2012 will be able to discuss the process by which BEUMER Group company, Crisplant, helped O.R. Tambo Airport, Johannesburg, to prepare for the 2010 FIFA World Cup with the installation of a new baggage handling system designed to increase the airport’s capacity by 50%.
An on-stand video will demonstrate a fully-integrated advanced baggage handling system based on the industry’s most energy-efficient LS-4000E high-speed sorter. The system, which was installed by Crisplant at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport’s International Terminal, integrates a number of Crisplant baggage handling technologies which are all monitored and controlled by Crisplant’s leading-edge sort allocation computer (SAC) control system.
