ACUNIS stands for air cargo Intralogistics and specialises in smart material flow solutions for air cargo management. At inter airport europe 2015, the new brand from SMS Logistiksysteme and Unitechnik Systems will present a comprehensive range of products and services to the trade public for the first time.
As a highlight at stand 1057 in hall B5, ACUNIS will also give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at a project at the Addis Ababa airport – in future the largest air cargo hub in Africa.
ACUNIS is the result of a cooperation between SMS Logistiksysteme GmbH and Unitechnik Systems GmbH. Based on the many years of experience of both companies, the new brand has established itself as a strong partner for turnkey solutions in the air cargo sector.
ACUNIS’ range of products and services extends from complete engineering of a cargo terminal to high-bay racking stores, storage and retrieval units, roller conveyors and workstations including automation and warehouse management systems and to installation and start-up.
At inter airport the new air cargo expert will focus on the needs of their customers and showcase the latest technical developments for the air cargo market.
Visitors can also obtain information about the Inventory Control System from Unitechnik Systems with scalable (zoomable) system visualisation. By providing a complete picture of the system and its individual processes, the software allows air cargo terminals to be refurbished and modernized rapidly and efficiently.
Another highlight ACUNIS will showcase is the project for Ethiopian Airlines at the Addis Ababa airport. The largest air cargo terminal in Africa is currently under construction there which will have an annual throughput rate of around 600,000t.
The new air cargo installation is as large as five football pitches and consists of a refrigeration and a dry storage area. The concept already includes expanding the terminal to 1.2m t per year.
