IT systems integrator SDI Presence has been selected as a key subcontractor for prime contractor Saab Sensis, which will deploy a new event management system (EMS) for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in the US.

SDI and Saab will work to provide on-site project management and integrate the latter’s Aerobahn surface management solution with the new SAFE EMS.

Saab Traffic Management business unit head Anders Carp said: “The SDI Team brings significant technical depth and airport operations expertise to our team and will ensure that SAFE will embody best practices from Phoenix Sky Harbor and other major airports in the US.

"We look forward to deploying an impactful event management system to enhance the airport’s domain awareness and overall security."

“We look forward to combining their system integration, implementation, and risk mitigation skills with Saab’s state-of-the-art EMS solution.”

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which serves about 40 million passengers per year, is owned and operated by the City of Phoenix through its aviation department.

The department will implement an advanced EMS to replace the existing computer aided dispatch (CAD) system for the Airport Command Center (CC).

Saab’s new SAFE EMS software offers a CAD solution and a variety of security systems.
