Raytheon has secured a $24m contract to modernise air traffic management (ATM) systems throughout the Kyrgyz Republic, including the country's main international airport near capital Bishkek.
The US Air Force Electronic Systems Center awarded the contract to Raytheon as part of the Foreign Military Sales programme.
Under the contract, Raytheon will deliver a wide area multilateration-based air traffic control (ATC) system, ATC radio systems and related ancillary equipment and systems integration services.
Raytheon will also design and construct a new ATC tower at Manas International Airport and supply new communications systems and interfaces to the existing ATM infrastructure.
Turkey-based Serka Construction will support Raytheon for the ATC tower.
