Dubai International Airport handled 4,019,230 passengers during August 2011, a 0.8% rise on the figure for the corresponding month in 2010.
The airport's year-to-date traffic increased to 33.3 million, an 8% rise on the figure for the same period in 2010.
The airport reported a 7.9% fall in air freight volumes to 182,781t for August compared with the same period last year.
The month's aircraft movements totalled 25,845, a 2.6% rise on the figure for August 2010.
For the year to date, Dubai International handled a total of 1,433,270t of cargo, a drop of 1.2% on the same period last year.
