UK-based Deloitte has set up a new division in the country to provide technological solutions to aviation businesses.

The company’s new consulting team will offer solutions for organisations working to address current and future challenges in the aviation industry.

The new division will be led by two aviation technology professionals, Mark Cooper and Martin Bowman, who will act as partner and director for the new division, respectively.

Deloitte Travel and Aviation global leader Graham Pickett said: “Deloitte has long been the provider of choice to the world’s leading aviation organisations, and we have a strong track record in providing innovative solutions across the aviation spectrum.

“Demand for aviation is forecast to grow significantly over the next decade, even though the overall aviation infrastructure is unlikely to change massively."

“Mark and Martin bring a wealth of experience and I am confident that our new Aviation Technology division will provide our clients with the answers they need to remain competitive in this rapidly-changing sector.”

Before joining Aviation Technology, Mark Cooper worked for 18 years in Lockheed Martin in various roles, including managing director for the company’s air traffic management and airport business.

Cooper said: “This is an exciting and challenging time for the aviation industry. Demand for aviation is forecast to grow significantly over the next decade, even though the overall aviation infrastructure is unlikely to change massively.

“This creates a huge need for organisations to work smarter, and technology will play a huge role in delivering the additional capacity the industry needs.”

Martin Bowman has 20 years of experience in aviation technology, working to enhance collaboration and efficiency across airports, airlines and air traffic control centres.
